The Review

I chose the Tuscany colour and love how rich it looks. The fabric—a soft, stretchy, and durable cotton blend—feels great to wear and holds up well to frequent use.

These pants have proven incredibly versatile. I’ve worn them hiking, walking the dog, gardening, and running errands, and they move effortlessly with my body. They offer the comfort of active-wear while still looking stylish enough for casual outings.

A great feature is the option to choose from three different inseam lengths. However, at 5’2”, I ordered the 0/29-inch inseam (the shortest available) and still needed to hem them by a few inches—though I do have particularly short legs. The waist fits well, and I appreciate the adjustable drawcord, which lets me tighten the fit when needed. This is especially useful when layering with different tops, from lightweight t-shirts to bulkier raincoats (which, let’s be honest, are a staple for much of the year in the Pacific Northwest!)

The fit is snug around the hips, butt, and thighs—similar to a skinny jean—while the calves are slightly looser than a traditional skinny fit.

As part of KÜHL’s travel pants range, these are designed for both all-day outdoor adventures and easy transitions between different activities. KÜHL describes travel pants as something that should “make you comfortable and your life easier, whether you are looking for pants for all-day backcountry exploration or for an easy transition from a flight to the office.” Based on my experience, these pants live up to that claim. I’d absolutely reach for them whether heading out on a long hike or spending hours in the car on a road trip.

The Verdict

The KONTOUR™ SKINNY pants score top marks for versatility—they’re well-suited for a range of activities while maintaining a stylish look that’s often missing in women’s activewear. The high-stretch fabric and contoured fit make them comfortable and flattering, but as with any skinny-fit pant, the overall fit will depend on your individual body shape.

Would I recommend them? Absolutely—just be mindful of the inseam if you’re on the shorter side!
